Programs

The monsoons start from the month of June and initiates the tilling and farming operations throughout India.

The Green Tree Foundation also starts to work to help the farmers, tree lovers and the project leaders plant trees. This year the Green Tree Foundation has planned to distribute millions of seeds.

Projects

1. Agroforesty

Agroforestry intentionally combines agriculture and forestry to create integrated and sustainable land-use systems. Agroforestry takes advantage of the interactive benefits from combining trees and shrubs with crops and/or livestock. Green Tree Foundation is promoting and implementing agroforestry techniques. This is a new concept in this region and is being well received by local communities with excellent results.

2. Backyard horticulture

Each house is provided with benefitial plants that yield fruit , shade and fibre or wood for the family. The households take care of the watering , protecting and feeding the plants. The residents use the back water for watering , feed the plants with organic wastes and protect the trees from being eaten by their livestock.

3. Kitchen gardens

Quality seeds are given to families in a community to grow their own vegetables organically.

4. Avenue plantation

Trees planted on the roadside keep road temperatures down, intercept runoff, and provide habitat for regional wildlife.

5. Memorial gardens

Tree planting in the burials yards of local communities in loving memory of beloved ones.

6. Social woodlots
